Venues and meeting capacity in Espoo

As a popular conference city, Espoo offers versatile meeting facilities, from dedicated congress centres and conference hotels to historical manors and villas by forest lakes.

The major venues, Dipoli and Aalto University's Undergraduate Center in the Otaniemi campus area and Espoo Metro Areena in the Tapiola Sports Park, can easily be reached by metro from the Helsinki city centre and other local centres of Espoo.

In case you haven't discovered it yet, here's an intriguing fact about Espoo: it defies the concept of a single city centre. Instead, the city boasts a unique urban structure built around not one but five distinctive centres.

Espoo is ideal for 500-700 persons conferences and seminars, but space is also available for events that attract 1000-3000 delegates.

Major venues

  • Dipoli, the main building of Aalto University, has meeting facilities for up to 1000 delegate congresses in a theatre style, and 600 classrooms. It can also host 600-800 delegate seated dinners.
  • Otakaari 1—The Undergraduate Centre of Aalto University has ten auditoriums (for 70-600 persons) and smaller classrooms for meetings and workshops.
  • Espoo Metro Areena, seating capacity: Lower stands 3 089, upper stands 2 831 and Arena-level maximum 2 100 persons.

Major congress hotels

Hanasaari, Korpilampi, and Majvik are the largest congress hotels in the Espoo area, with capacities ranging from 240 to 400 participants.

Hanasaari is nestled in a stunning archipelago setting near Helsinki city centre and just a 10-minute drive from the Aalto University Otaniemi campus area. Conference Hotel Korpilampi and Congress Hotel Majvik are slightly further away from the city buzz, yet within a 20-40-minute drive from Helsinki city centre and Helsinki Airport.

These congress hotels have extensive experience organizing international seminars in superb locations in maritime or forest landscapes. Furthermore, they hold third-party-issued environmental certifications as evidence of their commitment to promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism and congress travel.

Congress Accommodation

The Espoo area provides diverse accommodation options, with 18 hotels, hostels, and apartment hotels offering around 1,900 rooms.

And if you venture just a short distance to the vibrant capital of Helsinki, the number of available hotels, hostels, and apartment hotels expands significantly to over 100 establishments and 21,000 hotel rooms.
