Pirttimäki is an excellent place for hiking during the summer season and cross-country skiing during the winter. You can find about 20 km of marked trails there, also suitable for mountain biking. Besides that, you can prolong your hike to surrounding recreational areas - Haltia and Luukki. Pirttimäki area is located between two lakes - Lake Bodom and Lake Pitkäjärvi. The beautiful landscape was shaped by the last Ice Age, and the place is very diverse and impressive, with steep cliffs, erratic boulders, scenic lakes, ponds, lush bogs, and mires. The unique sight in the area is a 1,8-hectare walnut grove. 

The area closer to Lake Kaitlampi is private, and wherein you can enter in case, you booked a private rental sauna or Lapp hut. The private services in the area offer company Green Window Nuuksio. Besides that, you can enjoy public benefits such as a cooking shelter, camping site, water point, recycling center, toilet, or information board.

In the Kurjolampi-Valklammentie Recreational area is located the lovely Klassarinkierros circle trail that takes its visitors 3,9 km long circle around the pond Kurjolampi and on the way also invited the Saarilampi pond where the camping area and private rental cabin Tikankolo from Natura Viva are located. From the Saarilampi point, visitors can continue along the cycling path to a private rental log cabin in Oranvankolo (Natura Viva) or for pre-booked activities or stay in the beautiful Hawkhill Cottage Resort. The area is located in the municipality of Vihti.

Pentala island is known for being the iconic island with a lake with another island on the lake and for its history of being home to one Finnish family back in the 1790s - 1986. Besides that, the island is an idyllic summer day destination with seaside restaurant Paven, archipelago museum Pentala and nature trails around the island. You can come here to enjoy great food, amazing views, and sea air, or even take a whole family. Children can enjoy petting and feeding local sheep that come to the island every summer to care for local flora.

If you want a more remote experience, Stora Herrö Island can be a great option. This large recreational island offers great opportunities for camping and outdoor cooking (Note: Take drinking water with you).

Popular among campers, and rumors say that one of the most beautiful Espoo islands. Gåsgrund is a great destination for a day trip or overnight camping. You can enter the island by joining a public boat transfer, by your own boat, or even by kayak (from the north part of the island). You will also find family-friendly beaches and outdoor cooking shelters on the north coast.
