Dinner and gala venues for large groups
We have compiled a list of restaurants and event venues that can accommodate seated dinners, parties, gala evenings, or cocktail receptions for over 200 people. Espoo offers a variety of options with different atmospheres. These short descriptions primarily highlight the venue capacities and locations to get you started.
Espoo Metro Areena
Metro Arena, located in Tapiola's sports park, can quickly transform from a sports arena to a concert venue or a gala dinner space, depending on the event and number of guests.
Numerous successful galas and show & dinner evenings have demonstrated the arena's adaptability for events of various sizes. The venue can cover the ice rink and boards if needed, set up a large stage, and remove parts of the rink as required. The venue has hundreds of concert seats and hundreds of meters of banquet tables – fitting 1,800 people in seated dinner! The top-quality Sico Venue Maker stage can be arranged in many configurations, with dimensions of up to 19.52m x 14.64m if necessary.
The VIP Lounge and Blue Zone, the venue's in-house restaurants, are also ideal for hosting larger private events. The venue can accommodate up to 350 guests for a seated dinner.
The Espoo Metro Arena's arena level is barrier-free, and a spacious elevator leads to the second floor.

Espoo Cultural Centre
Located in Tapiola, the Espoo Cultural Centre is one of the city's leading venues for cultural events. You can enjoy theatre performances and concerts or host your own event in the beautiful halls. The Cultural Centre is well-suited for large auditorium events and many celebratory occasions. The largest hall, Tapiola Hall, holds 773 people, and the smaller Louhi Hall accommodates nearly 300 people.
In the foyers spanning three floors, you can host a cocktail reception or gala event for up to 1,200 guests. The Cultural Centre is a popular venue for receptions for large international congresses.
Café Molli provides the catering services at the Espoo Cultural Centre.
Dipoli
Located in Otaniemi, at the heart of the Aalto University campus, the legendary Dipoli is a popular venue for large events and parties.
For evening events, the largest halls in the building, Kaleva and Sief, combined with the impressive lobby spaces, can accommodate cocktail receptions for over 1,000 people. With just the halls in use, a unified space can hold 1,000 people in rows, 600 in a classroom setup, or 800 for an evening event.
The catering services at Dipoli are provided by Compass Group.
Majvik
Everyone gets a window seat in the bright dining room of the Majvik Conference and Congress Hotel, with views toward the sea!
The hotel's restaurant, Majvik, seats 220 guests for a seated dinner and can be divided into smaller private rooms. Cocktail receptions have been held for up to 420 guests.
Alternatively, the flat-floor Congress Hall can be used for dinners seating up to 270 guests and cocktail events for 500 people.
Sustainability: Majvik is a Green Key certified venue and has been awarded the Visit Finland Sustainable Travel Finland label.
Restaurant PLATS
PLATS is not just a restaurant. It is a stylish venue offering stunning views of the Espoo archipelago and a culinary journey through Nordic cuisine! Plats is where Nordic art, design, and gastronomy meet in a beautiful coastal setting, just 6 km from downtown Helsinki.
Sounds like a beautiful place to host an important dinner or cocktail reception, right?
PLATS has 240 seats, and its adjoining private room can be separated into a quiet space for 30 people. Cocktail receptions for up to 380 guests can also be held. Best of all, the seaside view through the windows is simply breathtaking.
Sustainability: Hanasaari and Restaurant PLATS are EcoCompass certified, plus hold the Visit Finland Sustainable Travel Finland label.
Vermo Arena
Finland's main horse-racing track, Vermo, may not be the first place that comes to mind when planning a significant evening event or gala, but the main building (10,000 m²) offers excellent facilities for hosting thousands of guests.
The à la carte restaurant Ravilla, with seating for almost 500 people, is ideal for show-and-dinner style evenings. The middle floor "hall level" at Street Bar Volt has alcohol licenses for 1,000 guests.
Suomen luontokeskus Haltia ja Ravintola Haltia
Haltia is an exhibition and event centre located on the doorstep of Nuuksio National Park. Here, you can explore Finland’s national parks and host private events.
Would you like to offer your guests a dinner in the main exhibition hall in front of an 18-meter panoramic wall? Or in the restaurant with beautiful views of Nuuksio's Lake Pitkäjärvi?
A seated dinner in the main exhibition hall can host about 40 people, but a cocktail reception can accommodate up to 200 guests. The restaurant Haltia has seating for 180 guests, and in summer, the 70-seat terrace provides additional space with stunning views of Lake Pitkäjärvi.
Haltia can also be reserved entirely for private events, accommodating up to 500 guests.
