Haltia Recreational Area, also called Haltia Gate, is a perfect place that combines Nuuksio's most known sites, services, and the beauty of Finnish nature. You will find there, from glamping nest accommodation over the southernmost reindeer park to the most popular viewpoint over Lake Pitkäjärvi.

First of all, how do you get there?

Whether arriving from different locations in Espoo or from Helsinki City Center, you can hop on the HSL public transport and come by buses 245 (from autumn to spring) or 245A (summer season) from Espoo Center (Espoon Keskus). The bus stop Haltia is situated right in front of the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia and the car parking lot. When arriving from Helsinki City Centre, you will need an ABC ticket, and from Espoo's locations, you need a BC ticket to reach Nuuksio National Park.

An area is also an excellent place for starting a hike, even for less experienced hikers, as you can get all the needed guidance or a guided tour directly from Finnish Nature Centre Haltia. The most popular trail in Haltia's recreational area is Maahisenkierros. Maahisenkierros trail is 2 km long and takes visitors to the most famous view over Lake Pitkäjärvi, the picnic site, and the reservable fireplace.
