In Espoo, we truly believe that travelling belongs to everyone

regardless of background, personality, or sexual orientation. We wish that each visitor can experience at least a bit of Finnish happiness. Therefore, we encourage local tourism services to focus on providing outstanding visitor experiences with openness, accessibility, fairness, and equal treatment for each visitor.

"Travelling belongs to everyone" means equal hospitality, where every visitor can experience tourism experiences equally and without discrimination.

The city of Espoo is a Working With Pride partner of Helsinki Pride in 2024. Espoo's events celebrate the diversity and equality of people! Helsinki Pride Week is celebrated on 24.-30.6.2024. On the Saturday of the Pride week (29.6.), you can participate in the Pride parade and park party. Pride month is celebrated throughout June, and this year's theme is Peace and Hope.

We Speak Gay Community

Visit Espoo is a part of the We Speak Gay community, which represents LGBTQ+ friendly companies and events. The purpose is to work together against all forms of discrimination.

Espoo tourism companies that are part of the We Speak Gay community:

You can find all members of the We Speak Gay community in the capital region in the Helsinki listing or download We Speak Gay map in paper or Google map versions.

The goal is to continue to develop tourism services together with the tourism industry, the city, and the surrounding areas in a direction where all target groups are considered equally regardless of age, gender, physical characteristics, sexuality, or religion. The purpose is that Espoo and the surrounding areas as a tourist destination, as well as the area's products and services, are available to everyone as well as suitable for special target groups.
