Sello Hall

Sell Hall is a premier music, performing arts, and film venue in Leppävaara, Espoo. Known for its outstanding acoustics, which are among the best in the Helsinki metropolitan area, Sellosali is also an ideal setting for corporate and private gatherings. With its flexible spaces, it can accommodate both small and large events.

  • The Largest Meeting/Event Space has 400 seats for meetings/seminars. The bright Sellosali lobby can host seated dinners for 250 guests or buffet/cocktail events for up to 400 guests.
  • Catering: Vaudeville Catering Oy, the in-house concert and event restaurant, provides it.
  • Activity suggestion: Change perspectives and head to Tree Top Adventure Park, less than 2 kilometres from Sello Hall, or stay close by and reserve a bowling lane from Bowl Circus Sello!
  • Accessibility: Sellosali is accessible for those with mobility, hearing, or visual impairments. Designated accessible parking spaces are available in the Sello Shopping Center parking garage, with guidance to Sellosali. The parking garage provides barrier-free entry via the library elevator to Sellosali's main entrance. The venue and surrounding spaces offer smooth pathways and accessible restrooms.   • Location: Inside the Sello Shopping Center in Leppävaara, Espoo (Soittoniekanaukio 1 A, Espoo).
  • Getting there: A 5-minute walk from the Leppävaara train station, bus terminal, and light rail stop. For drivers, free parking (3 hours) is available in the Sello parking garage. There are also multiple city bike stations near the Sello Shopping Center.

Espoo Cultural Centre

The Espoo Cultural Centre is the main stage for performing arts and cultural life in Espoo, and its halls are available for rent for various private events. The impressive Tapiola Hall seats 773/696 guests and is ideal for corporate events, annual meetings, and seminars. Louhi Hall is a black-box theatre with 178/233/296 seats, adaptable for club-style events where guests can enjoy music or other entertainment with snacks and drinks. Extending to three floors, the foyer facilities have room for up to 1200 persons and are very well suited for holding receptions, celebrations, fairs and small-scale cultural events. 

  • Largest meeting/event space: Conference/seminar seating for 773 people, foyers up tp 1200.
  • Catering: Through Café Molli, the café-restaurant at the Espoo Cultural Center.
  • Activity idea: Explore the beautiful architecture of Tapiola's garden city with guided walking tours organized by Metroretket. In winter, the central pool next door transforms into the Ice Garden, with an open-to-all skating rink and track. Skates can be rented from Café Hile.
  • Accessibility: The main entrance to the cultural centre is fully accessible, with two accessible parking spaces available at Kulttuuriaukio. The facilities include accessible restrooms and elevators in the lobby, and Tapiola Hall provides access to the upper floors. Wheelchair spaces are available in the halls.   • Location: The cultural centre is in the heart of Tapiola, by the central pool and next to the AINOA shopping centre (Kulttuuriaukio 2, Espoo).
  • Arrival: It takes under 10 minutes to walk from the Tapiola metro station or the bus terminal (at the AINOA shopping centre) to the cultural centre. For those arriving by car or charter bus, paid parking is available at Kulttuuriaukio, right in front of the cultural center, along with several nearby parking garages. A city bike station is also conveniently located outside the cultural centre.

EMMA - Espoo Museum of Modern Art

At EMMA, one of Finland's largest art museums, you can leave behind the concept of a traditional meeting space. Events at EMMA occur in the Aitio event space, where attendees enjoy a setting enriched with art. The space is ideal for seminars, cocktail receptions, parties, and seated dinners. Setting the mood in Aitio is the striking "Ultima Thule," a large plywood sculpture by Tapio Wirkkala.

Aitio is located near the exhibitions and separated by curtains; it is not soundproof. For added privacy, consider hosting your event on Mondays when the museum is closed to the public or outside regular opening hours.

  • Largest meeting/event capacity: Meeting for 20–40 people (with tables), seminar seating for 100, cocktail event for 100, and seated dinner for 50 guests.
  • Catering: You may arrange your preferred catering service or use Café Zoceria WeeGee's onsite services.
  • Activities: Add a guided museum tour or an art workshop to your meeting.
  • Accessibility: EMMA is a fully accessible museum. The meeting and event space Aitio is on the second floor, reachable by elevator, and the building features wide corridors without thresholds. For more information, visit EMMA's website.
  • Location: EMMA is at the WeeGee Exhibition Center in Tapiola (Ahertajantie 5, Espoo).
  • Arrival: EMMA is about a 10-minute walk (800 m) from Tapiola metro station, and the nearest bus stop is only a few hundred meters away. Paid parking is available in front of the museum for those arriving by car or charter bus. A city bike station is conveniently located nearby on Ahertajantie.
  • Sustainability: EMMA is an EcoCompass-certified museum.

Kino Tapiola -

Kino Tapiola is one of the few original, single-screen cinemas preserved in its authentic style in the Helsinki region. It's beautifully restored, heritage-protected architecture, cosy lobby, and excellent technical facilities make Kino Tapiola an exceptional venue for celebrations and events.

Kino Tapiola is generally available for rental on weekday daytimes and Monday and Tuesday evenings when there are no public screenings.

  • Largest meeting/event space: 194 seats for meetings/seminars and cocktail receptions for 60–80 guests.
  • Catering: The venue is licensed to serve alcohol, and catering can be arranged through your preferred service or Kino Tapiola's partner caterer.
  • Activity idea: Add a private film screening to your event! Kino Tapiola can host a special showing of a film of your choice, complete with cinema snacks.
  • Accessibility: The entrance, interiors, and cinema hall at Kino Tapiola are fully accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. The main lobby restroom includes an accessible option. The nearest designated accessible parking is approximately 150 meters away, in front of Tapiola’s swimming hall.   • Location: Kino Tapiola is in Tapiola area, Espoo (Mäntyviita 2, Espoo).
  • Getting there: A 10-minute walk from Tapiola metro station and bus terminal (Kauppakeskus AINOA). The nearest bus stop is 300 meters away. The Tapiola Park parking garage (near the Original Sokos Hotel Tapiola Garden exit) is nearby for those arriving by car. A city bike station is located right outside Kino Tapiola.

Kupla

Kupla, an event space in a former bank hall, offers a unique event setting. The space is spread over two levels: the bright, spacious upper level (at street level) is ideal for larger gatherings such as meetings or parties. In contrast, the lower level provides a more intimate environment for smaller events. Kupla's main hall includes a stage, a high-quality sound system, projection capabilities, and a bar area.

Note: Kupla is currently available for booking until the end of 2024.

  • Largest Meeting/Event Space: 70 guests for meetings/seminars, 80–100 for cocktail events.
  • Catering: A bar is available in Kupla, and catering can be arranged through an external service.

  • Activities: Organize a team competition at the nearby Tapiola Bowling Hall, or enrich your day with a concert, theatre show, or a visit to the rotating exhibition in the gallery at the Espoo Cultural Center next door.
  • Accessibility: Kupla is partially accessible. The venue is two-story and does not have an elevator. There is an accessible restroom at street level, accessible via a ramp. For more details, please check the venue's website.
  • Location: Kupla is in Tapiola Center, directly across from the Espoo Cultural Center and next to the AINOA shopping mall (Kauppamiehentie 7, Espoo).
  • Getting there: Kupla is a 5-minute from the Tapiola metro station and bus terminal (AINOA shopping mall). Multiple paid parking garages are available in the area for those driving. For charter bus arrivals, paid parking is available at Culture Square in front of the Espoo Cultural Center. A city bike station is also at Culture Square, next to the Espoo Cultural Center.

Children's Cultural Centre Aurora

The historical Aurora Children's Cultural Center, comprising three unique buildings, Meijeri, Taidetalo and Tilanhoitajan Talo, offer a distinctive setting for meetings and private events. The buildings and the central courtyard create a welcoming space suitable for larger gatherings.

Originally serving as the estate manager's house, dairy, and elementary school for the Träskända Manor, the Aurora Block was repurposed by the City of Espoo in 2003 for cultural use. Taidetalo, one of the buildings, now hosts many art clubs, workshops, and cultural experiences for children and families.

  • Largest Meeting/Event Space: 60-75 guests for meetings or seminars.
  • Catering: You may bring your catering service or request recommendations from the cultural centre. A well-equipped kitchen is available for small-scale heating and cold storage for meeting refreshments.
  • Activity suggestion for meeting breaks: Take a breath of fresh air with a self-guided walking tour in the adjacent historic Träskända Manor Park, filled with 19th-century charm.
  • Accessibility: The Meijeri building is accessible. Two accessible parking spaces are available close to the main Aurora gate, and there are two accessible restrooms in the building. Visit the Aurora website for more details.
  • Location: The Aurora Children's Cultural Center is located in Järvenperä, Espoo, near Lake Pitkäjärvi (Järvenperäntie 1–3, Espoo).
  • Getting There: The centre is accessible by bus, with the nearest stop, Träskändan Risti, less than a five-minute walk away. Free parking is a short walk from Pikku Aurora at Träskändanristi 4 for drivers or charter bus arrivals.

Pentala Archipelago Museum

A meeting day at the Pentala Archipelago Museum on Pentala Island offers a unique experience that combines a sea voyage, history, cultural landscape, and the island's distinctive natural environment. In Pentala, time stands still, providing space for reflection and an inspiring meeting atmosphere. The museum can host small meetings in the upstairs of Villa Rosengård, where there is a meeting room for 10 people and an adjoining chamber for small group sessions.

  • Largest meeting/event space: Meeting/seminar for 10 people.
  • Catering: Recommended from the nearby Restaurant Paven.
  • Activities: Take a self-guided walk along the 2,3-kilometre nature trail starting from the museum area, or book a guided museum tour to learn about historical island life and step inside one of Espoo's oldest residences, a fisherman's cottage built in the late 18th century.
  • Accessibility: The museum area is an old fishing estate and is only partially accessible. The meeting space is not suitable for those with mobility challenges. For more details, please visit the museum's website.
  • Location: The museum is in Espoo's Suvisaaristo, on Pentala Island.

Kannusali

Kannusali is a hidden underground gem in Espoo Center. With its flexible layout, Kannusali can accommodate events for 50–300 guests. The adjacent Cafe Bar Luola in the lobby is also ideal for smaller meetings, with seating for up to 60 guests.

  • The Largest Meeting/Event Space has 221 seats for meetings/seminars. The retractable seating system allows standing room for up to 300 guests.
  • Catering: Available through Kannusali's Cafe Bar Luola.
  • Activity suggestion: Visit the Helinä Rautavaara Ethnographic Museum in the Entresse Shopping Center (5-minute walk). The museum offers free admission, with options for guided tours or workshops.
  • Accessibility: Accessible parking is approximately 50 meters from the entrance at Virastopiha. The route to the entrance is marked, uneven, and well-lit. Customer service is on floor -1, with an accessible restroom. The lobby has an elevator, and ramps and bridges connect the spaces. Wheelchair seating is on the upper balcony.   • Location: Kannusali is located in Espoo Center (Kannusillankatu 4, Espoo).
  • Getting there: A 5-minute walk from the Espoo Center train station and bus platforms. For drivers, free parking is available next to Kannusali's main entrance at the parking garage (2nd and 3rd floors) on Kannusillankatu 2, 02770 Espoo.
